Hi all
First, the problem is, sometimes when a NPC in the game says something it isnt words...... but a really loud (in my headphones anyways) static hiss. Sort of like an untuned radio. Ive updated my drivers: MB with Soundstorm, vid card etc. And it still does it. Next idea is to replace my GCFs with a friends, but he probably isnt awake yet
Also tried lowering hard ware acceleration on the sound, no affect.
I have played about 3 hrs just ignoring the static and it continues on into the game, also affecting sound effects such as explosions and also
The static makes the game far less immmersive though
Specs are:
SILVER Steam release of HL2
AMD Athlon 2400+
Asus A7N266-VM (Built in Soundstorm as is Nforce2 also network etc)
Asus 9600XT
512Mb DDR400
200Gb IDE HD
Dvico Fusion HDTV
Any help would be much appreciated I have searched all through here and HLFallout to no avail.
Thanks,
Chrysilis
