Status: Need update but im at 100%

Im getting nothing when i run source. it comes up with the 2 CTs then goes black and all i have is an arrow on the screen. Nothing happens!

So i looked in status of the game and i see it says aquired 100% but needs an update.

How do i do this??

stupid question do i need to preload HL2 before running Source?

yes you do...

you get the engine with the hl2 preload...
