I don't post much on the Halflife2.net forums. I post alot more on the Steam forums but I wanted to put this over on this

forum because I read this one alot more. Anyway this conversation had me literally laughing out loud. I've never tried to

have my account stolen so I just thought it was funny when this guy actually did sincerely try to do it. It was quite

obviously not a joke.

I don't know how he got on my Friends list. His SteamID says he's from Portugal but I only ever remember adding a Spanish guy

I thought was cool, from CS:S, to the list. Maybe he was from portugal and this was his little idiot brother or something. Or

maybe it was a legitimate attempt; some guys might actually spend all their free time trying to nab other guys' accounts.

Anyway hopefully you'll find this as funny as I did. But I doubt you will. I tried to make this as readable as possible but

it's still pretty bad. I tried different colours and even removing the names but nothing is worse than a big chunk of text so

you'll all probably be sick of it half way through. Hmm well I hope you find it funny anyway.

Yeah come to think of it I did get another one a few years back where he pretended he was a Valve employee. Lol.

I must admit I once pretended to be an admin in a chat room to get these two guys to shut up. I think it was on GameSpy or something. But I'd never steal anyone's account where they actually payed for or had like spent alot of time on, like in an MMORPG.

I've only experienced being "phished" once on Steam and it didn't last long enough to be funny. However when I played Diablo 2 there was always at least one person in the chat room saying "I work with Blizzard and I need everyones account name and info." or in games they would say they could duplicate items which usually ended up either dropping all of that persons stuff on the ground to be picked up or crashed their game.

I don't feel bad at all for anyone who falls for phishing.
