Steam Cache

Is there a way i can download counter strike on steam, and put the cache onto a cd or something, so i dont have to re-download it later on ?
Also is there a way to do this with the steam updates aswell. Because i need the files for a LAN party which has no internet connection. Please could you tell me how to do all this. Thanks

Of course, just go to Steam/SteamApps and copy the appropriate .gcf file. Then move it to the same folder on the other computers.
