Steam Client Beta Available

There's a new Steam Beta client available. To access the Beta, go to File -> Settings, and on the Account tab will be a drop down. Select Steam Client Candidate, and then allow Steam to restart itself. Here are the specific changes:

• Updated retail install wizard to support upcoming releases
• Fixed the storefront refreshing at times when it was not visible
• Fixed a potential client crash on new account creation
• Corrected text for bans and kicks in chat messages

Was anyone else unable to play their games after installing this?

Half-Life Anthology pack games complain when run directly from Steam. Shortcuts work. Haven't tried any other games.

Installed this, it fixed the kick problem. Instead of saying "Me kicked me" it now says "Me kicked person A". I also banned someone yet no message showed as a result of the ban. Bah!

Maybe the text is invisible. They simply fixed what the invisible text said. Being invisible, of course, you have no way of testing it.
