Alright, I supposedly have a 4 Mb cable connection. I'm just now downloading Ep. 1 and its only downloading at 73KB/s . :hmph: Right now the bandwidth test is showing its at 1.1Mb/s because its prime time for surfin teh internets. But still 1.1Mb/s >73Kb/s. Also in the settings I have it set to Fiber for the internet connection type. Mabe it will give me more bandwidth from the steam server?

dude!!! avoid any other downloads while updating/downloading from steam.

it depends on the steam servers i usually get around 100kb on my 3mb connection

Steam never uses my full download speed, or ever comes close to it. I can download at 600kb/sec, but the fastest I've seen Steam downloading is about 120kb/sec or something.

That's just the way it is.

I'm not looking for pitty... I'm just making sure it's not me.

I just noticed this.
I do not thinking setting it to fiber will "give" you "more" bandwidth.

I would think it would give me a higher priority with "resources" on the steam server side. Or else whats the point in it.

Steam is not going to prioritize you over other people just because you select fiber. It's used to optimise rates during gaming. Someone else probably can be more in-depth about it.

Ah ok. Well, I wish they would freakin optomise my download rates.

Ah, but many people's rates are optimised. I also supposedly have a 4MB cable connection and I download at 20kbps, sometimes even around 7.
