Steam forums "couldn't handle the excitement".

They temporarily shut them down because they counldn't 'handle the excitement'. Interesting.

Its called they don't have enough mods to keep the insane spam to a bear minimum.

They've always (oddly IMO) shut off the Steampowered.com fora at the time of a major release. Happened with Steam itself, happened with CS:S.

I figure they'd just as soon use that extra smidge of bandwidth for HL2 itself. I hope it's not needed. I hope to be able to activate and play in 4 1/2 hours.
