Steam Freezes During Game Validation Process
I have a very frustrating problem: after completing install of HL2 files, steam then launches and attempts to validate the files. Every time it does this it freezes at 34% complete, and completely hangs my computer. I have to reboot to get it start. Any suggestions on what to try? I've already deleted and re-installed HL2, but it didn't fix the problem.
Here's my config (Brand new Dell computer - 1 month old):
Dell P4 3.4Ghz
2 GB ram
ATI Radeon X800 XT
SB Audigy
