Steam = Hackers?

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that since Steam there have been ALOT more hackers playing. In the past 2 days, about one third of the servers I have visited have hackers, some are more blatant then others, and most go by the whole "What? Me? Hack?" bit.

I have a couple of demos and screen shots of their steam IDs, does anyone know if there is anywhere I can send this? Steam really needs to do something about the hackers (after removing all the glitches)

I have also expeience hackers. Some way too obvious. One person went 103 and 0 in CS on dust. NO ONE is that good.

i really hope valve blocks the hacks. those speed hacks really take the life out of iceworld2k

Yeah once this guys was speed hacking like a bitch. Sometimes people speed hack when no one is looking, but this guy speed hacked in firefights, with half of the CT's watching. He was banned immediately.

If an admin has specified a contact adress (homepage/email adress) you can try checking the page for info (pages with forums usually have a specific forum part for hackers that people wants to have banned) (or if there was an email just email the admin).

It isnt Steam that should do that, since Steam isnt an anti-hacking software.
There are stand alone programs that do the anti-cheating part (for example programs like: cheating-death and Valve Anti-Cheat), Steam itself doesnt do anything about hackers, its the programs that the servers have that does the anti-cheating part.
But since there are new exploits that are found all the time wich makes the newer cheats undetected from those programs.

Valve should use Steam as a tool to help defeat cheats though. Valve can update Steam any time they like to include any code they like. Part of this could be anti-cheat code. Not to mention that Steam can control when you start your games, so maybe could prevent cheats hooking HL.

I love getting kicked from servers because they think I hack.

Wow, I shot you while you were reloading, I obviously hack.

But I don't see many hackers, I guess I don't play that much either :D

I completely agree with this guy. This is what I was HOPING Steam would be used for in addition to their content distribution. It's a completely logical application of it. And it will be much better than Cheating-Death since ALL CS players will have it.

I've gone 69-0 before (without cheating).. lol, then I died

I get accused of hacking almost daily... although lately I've been choosing to scrim/pug instead of pub.
I haven't seen nearly as many cheaters recently as there were in 1.5.

there are atlkeast 1 that is hacking in each CS server there is..Hopefully HL2 will not be like that

Just play on secure servers: the ones where you have to download the security module.

Ha)(or to the Ma)(or

Does anyone know that if you use hacks in Counter-Strike (and other online games), its a dead giveaway that you are completely retarted and definetely a N00B!!

I play in some goof around servers that have fy maps and scoutzknivez alot, but I also play in 1337 servers that have the scrim maps and stuff. Anyways, I was playing in a 1337 Server, and this guy joins in, I can't say his name......................
)(UXC)(Arjan.... or something, and he was killing my whole team every round single handedly. I was convinced he was hacking and it turned to fact when I watched him first person. His clan name is Urban Xtreme Cheaters or some stupid $hit. He was proud to have joined a Fuc]{ing hacker clan. I'm like, your a Fuc]{in Noob piece of $hit gtf outta here. WHO JOINS A CLAN THAT HAX NOOB!! First he gave the whole.. Who me?? I'm not hacking bit. Then he admitted to it a while later when the whole server saw him, then he said that its the coolest thing to do, and that he made hacks and was testing them or some bull$hit. Then better than that, there wasn't an admin to be seen for miles, so of course he stayed in the server with no one to threaten him with a ban or anything. He said he was really good at the game, and that he'd turn the hax off, and when he did, I knifed him when he was shooting me with a Colt M4A1.
And along with that, before entering the server, it said it had a safety module on the server, but now I know that it just makes you wait an extra 15 seconds to connect into the server because it doesn't do $hit.
ALL CS SERVERS should have a real security module that you don't have to download on any site or anything, just put it into an update with steam or something. BUT it would have to actually work this time, not some dotted bar moving across the server loading screen just saying it has one, it actually has to work.
Cheers to all people with their sensitivity at 1.337
