Ok. So I'm trying to download some maps for TTT and I'm at the Gmod site and there is an option to sign in with my steam ID. Only issue is I can't remember my password since its been so lone (Steam auto signs in).

So I go to the support page on Steamworks and select the lost password option.
It asks for my account name or email. I give my email. This is the same email where steam sends my purchase notifications. Steamworks comes back with the message that there is no account associated with that email. I try my account name... same thing. Even though I was just playing Gmod on my account that works when I want to purchase or play a game.

What the HELL is going on?

Please Help!!!!

Wait wat.

A site other than Steam is asking you for your steam user and pass?

I'd avoid that shit.

No. the site that's giving me trouble is this:
https://support.steampowered.com/login.php

Edit: I know I have an account that is linked to my main email address. So why wont the Steam site recognize both my account name and email?
Steam support isn't tied to your steam account in any way, you need to create a new support account. It says right there on the page:
Please do not attempt to enter your Steam account information for the Steam Support system, as it will not work.

Ah! ok. (why would the keep them separate?)

Thanks for helping a noob.

With that cleared up this leads me to my next question. Where can I download maps for TTT?

No, it uses the Steam OpenID.

Basically, garrysmod.org redirects you to steampowered.com to log in. You're still sending your username and password to steampowered.com. Many websites now allow OpenID. Google does it well, Facebook not so much. I don't want every ****ing website trying to link to my Facebook account. Some of them do it by default and just pull your Facebook cookie (if you've set to remember your username and password).
