After downloading the steam 1 with cs 1.6 my steam has worked perfectly.
Hl mp\sp and cs has worked like a dream :)
Still it's slow\impossible to get updates to the other games from the content server cause of the amount of users that are downloading right now :)

but..
Can someone please try to answer my question..

If i want to add my own language (Norwegian) to steam, what files to i need to add\edit?

If i want to convert som 3'rd party mods from my old hl folder.
How can i do this? or is it not possible anymore?

If anyone else has some good tips with steam, please add them here :)

You can put mods into Steam by putting them into your SteamApps\youremailaddy\half-life folder, and restarting Steam.

I have a good tip, if Steam doesn't seem to work, relax, keep it open, go play Diablo or someting, try it later, don't post any: "Steam SuxorZ" thread. ;-) oh and if it still doesn't work, wait a few days, it works fine for me now.

I can show you one step of making your own language..
A. 1. In the steam folder there is a folder called resources.
In it you got a file platform_english.txt and vgui_english.txt. copy them both, write Norwegian instead of english, and start editing whats inside.
2. Open the folder inside steam called Steam. In it tou'll find a steamui_english.txt file. copy, rename, and start editing. This is the more important file than the two above. It has all of the explenations etc'. (And some pretty interesting stuff about whats going to be next in steam).
B. I still haven't figured out yet how to let Steam know you have another language it can use. But i'm working on it.

And I think that in order to convert mods that you already have in the old hl dir, you just need to copy them into steams folder/SteamApps/your-email/half-life.

That's what i'm trying to figure out to.. :)
I know all the 3 files.. but not how to get steam to use them..

ok, I searched a little...

In order to add new languages you need to compile it into the SteamUI.dll.
And since thats not possible, I found an easier way-
Just edit one of the files. Don't rename it. Edit whats written in it, and then select the language you edited in Steam.

This thread stinks...maybe because it's been dead for three years! :frown:
