Alright, so I'm sitting here with my 512kbit internet connection, waiting for Halflife 2 to download, after buying the Silver Pack, I left it to download last night, and the bitch only downloaded 78% before claiming it was ready.

I try to play it, and it crashes, so I wipe out the files, and start again, it's refusing to download at any acceptable rate... 900 minutes!?

Okay, so anyone got any ideas about what I can do to get this thing to speed up?

If you had a quick search you would have found out the validate command, but now your stuck downloading the game.

The download timer is usually off, so just give it today to download.

Don't use your internet connection while downloading from steam; a small-sized connection like the one that you have will quickly fill up and choke if you start surfing sites and downloading other things.

Well, I've "downloaded" it, as in, Steam says it's downloaded, but when I check the properties, it's only 88%, which of course, causes the game to freeze whenever I try to load it. I have no idea what to do, as whenever I try to access the launch options, it says "Advanced Users Only."

See if you can get a physical DVD-ROM version instead - at least you'll have all the material then.
