i have a problem steam i have 2 copies of the game and whenever me and my sister tends to play together online we lag so bad up to 2k ping.. how come when were not in the same server we dont lag how to fix this

can someone please tell me its getting very irritating... i cant seem to play with my sister. we both go in the saem game then lag so much and others dont and we are not downloading anything, not the servers problem and we dont lag at all at seperate servers....

Who is your ISP. Sounds to me like you need to get some more upload speed. Better yet. Stop uploading MP3s to your friends and you will have some extra bandwidth.
I have 4 copies on four different systems on a gigabit network. with only 512 upload. I have no problems with the games going at the same time. Just make sure that you understand that the type of router and switch you get can mess with your network.
Remember. When you have two machines connected to a router. Only one can talk at a time. Shit, just get a hub and pay 5 dollars more for another IP. Your bandwidth will be increased.
In fact, get another cable modem. lol.
