Help !!!, Haven't been able to logon to Steam for 3 days now, I can logon to the site and update my account but cannot play any of the games I so diligently payed for, any help greatly appreciated.

Does the account ask you to purchase the games, or will they simply not launch? Make sure the games are on 100% ready to play. Also make sure you are logged into the account you bought the games on. What happens when you try and play?

Installed fully from DVD, icons appear on desktop, logon box appears, with my logon name, enter my password which I can log on to through the Steam webite and change if I so wish and nada , I get the same message over and over etc , cannot logon to steam server, either your internet connection is at fault ( nope ) or the steam servers are down, hey is anyone else having the same problems, it started three days ago since then nothing.

There are no reported problems with the steam network at all. It sounds very much so your problem on your computer. To me i would diagnose you have a firewall blocking steam.exe process to an online connection causing the problem. Be sure to THOROUGHLY check your anti-virus/ firewall protection.

erm, yup...

Something changed at your end 3 days ago. See if you can find what it was and that will fix your problem.

It's definitely not the STEAM servers..

If it comes down to it, do a system restore on Windows to ~3 days ago..

System restore LOl, that was disabled the second the install of Windows was complete, as for my problem as if by magic it sorted itself out, nothing has changed my end, it just logged on itself and has now been running for just over a day, thanks for all the suggestions .
