Steam Lost Acount Help!

I bet you guys hear this all the time, but I've actualy borrowed the game from a friend....he gave me the box n stuff and it has the serial key with it, but I cant start the game up without steam....

he told me his username and password, but I can only remember his password..
dumb? yes.....

is there anything I can do to resolve this tonight, or should I just wait the 2 weeks until he is back from his holidays? and quit wasting mine and everyone elses time?

Well can't you also login with the email thats registered to there account? So if you have that..
