In this weeks update, we have been given a projected release date on the map Argentan for Day of Defeat: Source and de_nuke for Counter-Strike: Source. Both maps planned to be released around the 30th of this month. De_nuke will be the first map released to have Valve’s High-Dynamic Range Lighting in Counter-Strike. As we found out earlier this week, Red Orchestra, an Unreal modification, will be released via Steam sometime early next year. It’s a stand-alone product that is both single and multiplayer. [br]

can be found here. Also, more on this weeks Steam update here.

Finally a date...Still no mention of CS:S models though

Birllant, but are the models coming with de_nuke?

Wow, I just read the Red Orchestra interview on the site:

This is probably the only WW2 game I have been excited about since the first Call of Duty. A lot of it also has to do with a few of the new features they seem to have added:
We’ve made major improvements in almost all areas of the game. Essentially, we looked at the feedback from all the fans and the testers and picked the things we thought needed the most improvement, or would have the most impact on gameplay if we added. Player movement is a big area that we have concentrated on for the retail version. We’ve added leaning, diving to prone, crouched sprinting, etc. Some of the things the player can do now have never been seen in this genre such as the ability to dive over obstacles or even dive out windows. With all of the new player movement features the pace of the game has definitely increase in a realistic way.
One of the most exciting new features is the ability to rest your rifle or submachine gun on ledge and against walls to steady your aim and reduce recoil.
When we first came up with the idea we thought it would be fun but didn’t really know it would have such a large impact on gameplay. All of the sudden in our playtests we started seeing more and more people using their weapon’s like a real soldier. You see people resting their PPSH41 submachine gun on sandbags laying down cover fire, snipers hiding inside buildings resting their rifles on desks, tables, or anything lying around, or rifleman resting their rifle against a wall to get a more steady shot. We think it’s a feature you’ll likely see copied in other tactical shooters in the future much like 3d ironsights were when our team introduced them.

I never have played Red Orchestra but I'll be buying it the moment it's available. I love WWII games.

The word 'are' is missing from the newspost.

Red Orchestra sounds like it'll definitely float my boat. CoD's overrated, well the singleplayer is. SP CoD was way too arcadey for my taste, even playing it on hard the AI was really predictable and it felt like I was fighting the same enemies in different costumes all the way through (I know, that's exactly what they were, but this was more intense in CoD than many other games).

Red Orchestra sounds like a gritty game for the determined player.
