Steam not allowing /map XXXX for HL1 resolutions?

yes, I have HL on CD, but I don't feel like reisntalling it just to cheat and be able to take a few screenshots.
I want to map skip to Xen take a few screens, and quit.
BUT Steam won't allow /map command. I d/l'ed a cfg file for hl2 so I can map skip, but is there a way for HL? I've tried looking, but nothing avails. Thanks.

Try just "map". I don't recall ever having to put a slash in front of it.

pre-steam didn't use slashes either. Most quake 3 engines did though.
