Steam password

Ok, I opened up steam again after a month or so of not playing. I had "remember my password" checked, but it brought me to the login screen (guess you have to retype your passwprd again once in a while.) Well anyways, I forgot my password (tried all of my passwords I remembered) so I tried to "retrieve a lost account". I got till it asks me to answer my secret question..well the problem is that when I first signed up for steam, it never had the "secret question" thing.

So..any ideas what to do? ;(

Email valve with proof that the account is yours and they'll reset it eventually

How can you prove it's your account...?

Officially you have to physically send them your manual cover with the CD key on it, but some people have got away with emailing a photo.

It's a lot harder if you don't have any retail games tied to the account though

Doesn't make so much of a difference To the thread creator: just lodge a Support ticket and see what can be done.

But I got HL2 with the ATi coupon

*Edit* I just created a account on the support thing. I type in my question and all the other things but I when I submit, it says:

'User ID' requires a value

I entered my steam account ID if that's what they're asking.

email them still. Say that you got it with coupon (they probably know) and they'll probably ask you to give pic of box or something like that? Or receipt for card purchase.

Well, there is a little problem...I got the coupon from a friend cause I built a computer for him. He doesn't have the box cause he threw it away. He doesn't have a reciept cause the gfx card was a gift. ;(
