Steam is Valves way of by-passing publishers, everyone knows publishers are bad, they rush development studio's and stick up the prices of games, due to making the box's, dvd's, manuals, etc.
So, we can buy CZ through Steam... fantastic, Valve dont have to pay money from sales on steam to their publisher. Then why are we charged on steam the same (or more, depending on the currency conversion, atm CZ is a pound over its retail price in the UK), surely Valve would make more sales out of steam if its cheaper than retail, considering we dont get a nice DVD or manual or anything.
I really think Valve should half or cut a third off the prices on steam downloads.
Just my 2 cents!

Yes, it odd that the prices are SO high. I guess it's because they don't want to shaft their publishers too much at this point. We'll see what happens when payable stuff that doesn't go retail starts to arrive.

They can't lower the price because it's got to be the same across the world, and not everybody can pick up copies for a tenner. ;)

Not that i'll be buying off steam, there's nothing like having the dvd, box etc in your hand.
it's just odd, because if CS:CZ was a fiver cheaper, i'd buy it.

its a good idea, because then you are guarnteed a copy, but you don't get a box :frown:
