Well, it's simple. I haven't opened steam in ages, and I open it. Naturally I get flooded with tones of invites and other crap. My hard drive goes into permanent read mode and my entire system hangs. I've uninstalled and re-installed steam and it's the same issue over and over again.

Re-installing isn't working. Any ideas?

ok will try thanks

BUT

it says I'll lose all my games. I don't want that!

It says the opposite...

4.Move SteamApps out of the Steam folder. This is the folder that holds your games so you want to keep it!

14.Move your SteamApps folder back

Did you read it properly? Also I think you might be able to log into steam community through your browser, doing so you could perhaps remove all your invites to things this way.

It's still not working. I deleted the steam folder and reinstalled it. It still lags the shit out of my computer and hangs my system.

sigh..

If you haven't used steam in a while it might be downloading all the updates. I just reinstalled on a different computer with a new key (old one was stolen) steam remembered me and all my games. It took a while to dl them but what the heck. :bounce:
