Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically
when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:[br]
[br]
Team Fortress 2[br]
  • Fixed a crash with ATI cards running on Vista
  • Fixed a networking problem that could cause a crash certain types of home
    networking hardware with out of date firmware installed</li>
  • Fixed a networking problem that could cause some animation jittering[br]
    </li>
  • Fixed bug causing incorrect .dem files to be written (all files after first
    .dem file would be corrupted)[br]
    </li>
  • Fixed bug with placement of teleporters that could result in players being
    unable to move[br]
    </li>
  • Removed mp_friendlyfire cvar for servers. Team Fortress 2 breaks in a number
    of ways if this is on[br]
    </li>
  • Fixed some truncated strings in the destroy menu[br]
    </li>
  • Spectators can now see all player classes in the scoreboard[br]
    </li>
  • When a round finishes, if there's less than 5 minutes left on the timelimit,
    the server now goes ahead and switches level right away, instead of going into
    Sudden Death[br]
    </li>
  • The affinity of the main thread is not set explicitly for dedicated servers.
    This will properly load balance multiple instances of the dedicated server running
    on a multi-processor machine. The affinity is still set to CPU 1 for clients and
    listen servers[br]
    </li>
  • Fixed crash on startup[br]
    </li>
  • Fixed crash caused by .dlls being loaded from the user's path, instead of
    from the install directory </li>
*UPDATE*: Another update was released later:
  • Added Team Fortress 2 events and cameras to SourceTV
  • Fixed memory fragmentation crash
  • Fixed prediction error that caused jittery sticky bomb launcher behavior
    </li>
  • Fixed rare crash when creating muzzleflashes

goody goody, hopefully most of the people got their problems resolved.

This fixes nearly everything. EVER!
:p
But seriously, this update was grand. I don't have to worry about crashes ever again!

I haven't played TF2 before, but why take out sudden death? Anyone care to explain?

What used to happen was that when a round ended near to when the server was about to change the map you would instantly go into a useless Sudden Death (which should only be to settle stalemates) instead of a proper round.
I haven't explained that very well but the point is rounds will no longer consist of only Sudden Death.

Great update. Hopefully this fixes a lot of peoples problems. Still hasn't fixed my music problem. When I start up TF2, everybody gets music, but mines so skippy like it's on a dirty CD.. :(

maybe cyberpitz thats just a slow CPU, with onboard sound or somehting, not really a bug with the game, more that you need a decicated sound card of faster cpu :D

unless of course lots of people have this problem

Code:

timelimit, the server now goes ahead and switches level right away, instead of
going into Sudden Death

Tell me this. At which point did they say that Sudden Death was removed from the game?

That's not it. I have the same problem and I doubt you need more than a E6600 @ 3.2ghz and a x-fi to play a song in the menu.

Bah, I really hope they fix friendly fire. It's one of the few negatives I have against the game is that you can just shoot everybody when you're paranoid about spies.

Yeah I'm scratching my head on the sudden death thing too. I had to read that 4 times and I still don't get it. Oh and check your drivers people!

It's implied that it's been removed, maybe not from the game code... but it's been removed from the game ya'll play.

Yeah, I think he gets the message and that's why he's saying 'bah' - he just hopes Valve will fix it in future and so do I.

It's been known FF wasn't suppose to be in TF2 to begin with.

Was on a server last night when a "sudden death" occured. A person quickly informed me of the update in English though. Some servers had the maps lasting under 5 minutes. So once a new map started, the sudden death instance would instantly occur. So the feature is still in, but they removed that bug.
