Steam update

For the past 3 updates it takes me 17 years and 12 thousand retries to update it. It always stops at 28%, 29%, 30%, 31%, 32% or 33% starting at 28% and going up 1% after every 7 cancel and retry. Most of these retries it never gets to a percentage even after 1/2 hour waits, just says Steam - Updating with no recieving or sending in the net traffic doodah. But when it gets past 33% it works perfectly. Is this because of a server overload or is it just bsing me? On retry #24 for this latest update and it appears to have worked.

Mine finally worked. Took forever, had to restart 3 times. Now its updating DoD at a horrificly slow rate. This sucks.
