steam updating a lot slower?

it may just be me, but is steam updating CONSIDERABLY slower then normal for anyone else lately? I used to update at close to a meg/ a second. and after the last source update i went at around 110 a second. I just today reformatted and am now installing everything, and it still only goes around 110kbs a second :-x

any theories on why (all other internet traffic is normal) or suggestions? I spose its just the steam network

Steam is probably just taking more hits than usual, or your ISP hates you, if you have cable then alot of people in your neighborhood could be using the net\watching tv(football games ya know).
