Why is it that steam requires 60MB if my RAM to sit in the taskbar? I haven't played HL2 today and my computer has been used normally since it booted this morning at about 10am, it's now 16:40.

to put it in perspective it's now using more than Photoshop, which i used to edit down the a screenshot

Memory leak anyone?

Wow, that is pretty much.... It's only using 40mb of my memory.

There is a memory leak with it somewhere. I usually have to reboot after a while if I've played any of the games on it. The SDK menu is apparantly a problem aswell, they'll get it fixed eventually though.. one day :p

lol, yeah, i just restarted it and it was on 18MB, perfectly acceptable, now after i go take a sh1t it's on 20 - looks like i'll just have to disable it fram starting with windows and use it only when i want to play:(

Thats how I have it, seems fine, I remember to update in advanced like that too, when I had it running all the time I'd forget and then end up waiting ages when I'd rather be playing.

39mb for me.

I have a GB, its water off a ducks back

mine is sitting at 40megs at the moment, i tend to leave it running once i start it cos i think it updates in teh background, might be wrong about that though. I have a gig of ram so 40 isn't that big a deal for me tbh, but it is for some though.
