Steam Windows Go Really Small, Cant See Text In Them

Hi, im trying to download CS:S, but when i ddl click the icon a steam window comes up and its tiny , all you can see is the steam logo, so I cant tell if its downloading or not, or how much is done, or whatever, please help. Cheers.

right-click on the steam icon in your taskbar, and select 'Monitor'
Inthere you can see what is downloading, at what speed and howmuch has downloaded so far.
