Hey everyone I'm new here. I run a hardware review site and I just built a new system. I downloaded the steam installer and run it, then it runs the steam update. When it gets to 100% the update screen goes away and nothing happens. Steam does not load at all.

I have tried:
Re-installing
Repairing
Downloading the steam installer and re-installing
Running steam from the command line

I really don't thing it is my system as it is brand new, but here are the specs:

ASUS Commando Motherboard
Intel C2D E6400
Crucial Ballistix 2GB
ASUS EAX1950 Pro

All other games / programs work fine on the machine. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know, thanks!

no that is not the problem, the system is completely open. Steam works fine on all other systems on the network

hmmmmmmmmmmm i had this problem before... i fixed it reinstall steam or create new account:cat::cat::cat::cat::cat::cat::sniper:

V-Man's Opinion on the Location of this Thread

Shouldn't this thread be in the help and support section?

As for the problem, I have no idea on what the problem could be, as if you didn't even have a firewall, you might even have a virus.

Does the steam.exe process remain?
