Steam won't remember my password, even though the box is ticked...

I've never had Steam set to remember my password in the past, but since I've bought HL2 I thought it would be a good idea to have it remembered so the kids can play it when they like.

I don't want to play in proper offline mode or fiddle with my net connection every 5 minutes, I just want them to click the HL2 icon and the game load, which aint too much to ask shirley.

It seems to be ok if I dont restart the comp, as in it will remember it until I restart the comp then its fuxored again...
Or do I just have to shut the comp down without exiting Steam, in the old days you could do that and stay logged on, spose that was too easy......

Same here but it's only started happening today for me. Everytime I log onto Steam I enter my password & tick the box! What's going on here then? It's no big deal to me but I hate it when things start weirding out on my PC!

Have you set "Don't remember login details on this PC" In the steam settings?
