Steam won't start up :(

Steam recently updated, and it had the new look, after it updated i was playing cs source, and everything worked fine

now when i try to start up steam, it tries to update, but nothing happens, it just sits on 0% and then after a while it exits it self... has anyone had this problem?

Does it give you an error like "Could not connect to the Steam Network or Warning: Steam is having trouble connecting to the servers", or does it just exit without saying anything?

Same Problem - Steam - Updating - 0% Complete

I am having the same problem as well. A few days ago steam keeps getting stuck on window "Steam - Updating - 0% Complete" it sits here for about a minute then just closes down. If anyone knows how to fix this please help as i have not been able to play Half Life 2 for 3 days now. I have backed up my steam folder and trying to reinstall Steam, will let you know how I go.

Fixed it!! All you need to do is delete the file ClientRegistry.Blob out of your \Program Files\Valve\Steam folder. It asks you for your account password again but then successfully installs the update. Woo Hoo!!
