Okay. Half-Life 2 is registered and 100 percent verified and says "Ready" in both Half-Life 2 and CS:Source.

I have my password and username remembered and have made sure that the thing in Steam Settings for public computers is not checked.

I disabled my internet, started Steam, it asks to Retry or start Offline, I pick offline. Everything is fine. I exit Steam.

I turn my internet back on. I start Steam.... it connects itself to the internet! What the hell? Doesn't it stay in offline mode until I tell it to go back online?

I don't want it on AT ALL, until I choose myself for it to go back to online mode.

Anyone know whats up?

So it is it like this for everyone then? Is that why no one is responding?

you need to be connected to steam in order to go into "offline" mode, i think

thats exactly what VALVE/STEAM dont want

the only way to do it is to config you firewall to block steam from the internet

if you dont have one a nice free one is Zone Alarm

the website has excaped me but just google search it

yep. ZA will block. If steam tries to connect and u block it will then give you the option of offline mode. after i switched off pc and started a second time, steam just stayed in ofline mode.

Steams default is to automatically go online. The easiest way to get the offline mode option is to disconnect your modem cable... that way it CAN'T connect, and then it gives you the option.

I cant get steam to go into offlien mode ... no matter how many times i click it to remember user name and password.. *shrugs* ... needs killing
