Stephen King on videogame violence

I don't see how Uncle Steve blaming guns for Cho's rampage is any different than blaming video games or books or music or mental illness or social situations. He's just using a different scapegoat. Why doesn't anyone blame the thing really responsible... Cho? It's because this country has totally abandoned the concept of personal responsibility. It's always someone or something else's fault.

Yeah, good comment that.

Half expected an ironic twist that he was against violent video games.

Seconded. I agree with you %100 Crush. Nobody wants to take responsibility for anything anymore. Blaming violent video games for some nutjob kid shooting up a mall or school is complete and utter BS. If I had to point the blame at anything however though, it would be bad parenting.

Not to say even the best parents turn out with wacko kids sometimes though.

I just wish to God that legislators were as eager to point out that this nutball had no problem obtaining a 9mm semiautomatic handgun. Cho used it in a rampage that resulted in the murder of 32 people. If he'd been stuck with nothing but a plastic videogame gun, he wouldn't even have been able to kill himself.
case closed.

wow, someone with common sense. that's weird.
