stop running 24/7 servers!!

I don't even want to play FF anymore because every server with a good ping and more than 18 players is a 24/7 well server. Then the servers that aren't 24/7 have FF on, which is really gay for a TFC game and NOT the way it was meant to be played.

Then if I want a NON-well map that has FF off and a good ping then I have to play on a server with 14 max slots and running 10 people, which then isn't even worth playing on!

How did FF go from a great opening game, to bad, to awful in such a short amount of time! I mean this server selection is worse than TFC where 99% of the servers had 19/20 bots and ran 2 fort 24/7.

Jesus ****ing christ stop hosting 24/7 servers!! If you want a server decided to a map then at LEAST put a ****ing rotation on it and add a vote 'extend length' ability!!!

Go make your own server then, nothings stopping you. It's the admins decision on what maps they want, they are the ones hosting it.

I feel your pain. I hate servers that run 24/7 maps. The game gets so repetitive so fast. I usually stay away, in search for servers with a much broader map rotation.

Plus, it's hard to host your own if you don't have the money/bandwidth to do it! Ever tried to host a 18 man server on your DSL connectioN?

They're fun, I also have a favorite list of various servers...no one makes you stay on it.

It costs $$$ to run a server, if I started one off my computer nobody would play on it..and you know that's true.

I wasn't saying anybody did, however all the servers that have friendly fire OFF and have 20+ people and have a good ping are all 24/7 servers. It's just frustrating if I want to play a FUN game of FF then I really can only do it on well...the MOST boring of any map.

I love 24/7 servers because if I want to play my favourite map, I'll jump in until I have my fill; it also saves on loading times. Just don't play them if you don't like them.

24/7 servers are the reason valve only released a handful of maps with TF2 because they realize you can have a bajillion maps and the public will often play only a couple over and over (de_dust, de_aztec anyone?)

I guess the good side is they focused on making those few TF2 maps well. :bigthumb: so now there will be a lot of crazp maps released.
