Stop saying "Use the search button!"

I swear this is getting kind of annoying. I understand if there are 3 threads about the same topic in 3 days or something but whne someone says "use the search button" and you find the topic is like a year old and if you try to revive it people start yelling "SPAM!" or "STOP BUMPING THIS OLD THREAD... NUB!"... and Im thinking if everyone used the search button these forums would be pretty dead by now.

There are a lot of threads that have been answered before that get posted about again. They could be a month old or a year old. If the post made actually warrants further discussion then the "use the search button" plea won't be made. Normally, further discussion isn't warrented and it's just asking a question that has already been answered elsewhere so as far as I'm concerned, that's discussion over once it's been answered, but even though they could have found the answer using the search function, we get several more pages of spam.

People are just too lazy to use the search button though and that's what really winds people up.

Chris_D EDIT: I would also like to add that hostility in people posting comments like "use the search button" is still not acceptable. Only say it if it's in context and polite.
