I dont want any Spoiler here but I recognize that the Story isnt that completed as it shut.

The game is fecking amazing and the best I ever played, no matter of what.

BUT

There are many unanswered question in the sequel HL2.

What happend to Freeman the years between HL1 and HL2?

What happend to the Earth? Why its so devasted?

Why are parts of the enemies from HL1 now our comrades?

I havent played it til the end but can anybody tell me if the story will be told in the end? What happend?

Like (I think) Gamespot said....they give you lots of new questions to go with your old questions...and they don't answer any of them.

Thanks

Well, I love the game but I would love a storyline aswell :(

I was hoping for one too :| because I thought this one was half-developed and kinda lame.

You can make out quite alot by listening to Dr. Breens speeches and the vortigons are our friends because Gordon set them free by killing Nihilanth in the first game (which is also why they call you Free-man).

Many movies do this too. They leave a POSSIBILITY for a sequel by not tying up all the ends completely so that a sequel has a decent chance of a storyline.

Not having a 100% complete storyline is a good thing :)

HL2's story is played out through hints and careful listening instead of long cutscenes with tons of dialogue.

half life 3 is a way off...ALL answers will be explained then, as its the last in the official trilogy.

yeah but you have to admit without the story it does seem rather wierd? As everything has a purpose dosent it and there does seem a severe lack of knowledge given to us. As someone above said about the aliens from hl1 who we killed in droves are now our friends?! how that happen? lol. Im totaly for the guessing game and leaving stuff to our wild imaginations but sometimes it just felt like they couldnt be botherd to say or mention about the obvious things, And they desperatly need to come up with a better line then "mr freeman is that really you" omg how many times was that said tho? lol anyone wana go back and count? :)

They were slaves, and when gordon killed the thing in HL1 they were freed.

Dear God

Do some of u not look around in a game?? If u speak to the Vortigaunts....i like the way they speak... lol anyways, they tell you stuff

one of the lines is something like

"the free-man killed nihilinath and freed us" or something like that anyays. LOOK AND YE SHAL FIND!

I mean people are moniang ( all be it in their own opinion) about the game not having story line

im in the prison atm...ya know where you gotta set up the sentry guns and theres like 50million combine on ur ass

and i have found lots of story..for example

when your in Nova Prospekt with all your Antlion chums, Dr breen is speaking over you on a voice com thing...if u listen it talks about Eli Vance being captured...Gordron getting Honors in his MIT qualification...and then him talking about the "benifactors"....

I mean its all there, its just were all so used to having a cut seen slamed infront of us so we can have the story spelled out...this is far more clever..more imersive, i mean if your in real life, you dont see cut-scenes do you? you hear things..on TVs..while other people talk, and of others, a much better way imo! :afro:
