I purchased HL2 on steam. Played for quite some time with absolutly no problems. A few days ago I did some tweaking i.e. cleaned out redundent files, change my virtual memory setting on XP from 1534 to 1024 (I have 1 gig ram) per a tweaking website. Also I downlooaded the Catalyst Control Center for my ATI Raddeon 9800xt. After that time HL2 is stuttering. It is driving me crazy. I reverted back to the original Virtual Menory setting. I uninstalled and reinstalled the control center and drivers and still the stuttering (teaches me to tweak) Other programs work fine like Counter Strike. Would I have some how unknowingly deleted the HL2 patch? If so would it automatically load back in when I started HL2 up in steam? Is there somthing else I should look at?
