Strange console

i've tried using search feature but couldn't find anything simular to my problem so..

I have counter-strike source with console etc. enabled. the problem at hand is that if I try to type something in console it just disappears and puts my back in the game.. I open the console again.. I try typing same thing happends..
for as far as I know my console only lets me typ my full command 1 out of 10 times or so..

example: I try typing cl_showfps 1,
If i press the "c" the console is gone..when i'm back in console the c is standing there so i press "l"... console is gone again.. i check back at the console again... now there's only a "l"

is there somebody out there who can help me with this? :cheers:

Same problem here with HL2 - Did you sort it out?

I've resorted to using the mouse to cut and paste text into the console command line. For some reason mouse clicks don't make it disappear just keypresses.
