Strange Freezing in Steam games.

Hey I have a problem some of you guys may be able to help me with

Whenever I am playing games like TF2 or Episode 2, often the game freezes for about 10 seconds with looping sounds and then come right, has anyone else experienced this?

I am defragmenting my drive now to see if this helps.

How often does this happen? If defrag dosen't get it, try verifying your files.
TF2 -> Properties -> Advanced -> Verify Integrity of Cached Files

It happens every few seconds now, I also noticed a strange rainbow coloured crate in-game.

I validated Ep2 to 100% and it hasn't come up with any problems, I got new sound/video drivers so i'll see if that helped.
