One person was injured this morning when a sport utility vehicle crashed into a school bus on the Near Southside.

No children were on the Indianapolis Public Schools bus when it collided with the SUV at Terrace Avenue and Madison Avenue, north of Manual High School, at 10:19 a.m., according to Marion County police dispatch.
Police closed Madison Avenue near Pleasant Run Parkway North Drive while firefighters worked to extricate the driver of the SUV out of the vehicle, dispatch said.

The victim was awake and transported to an area hospital, dispatch said. The victim’s name and condition were not immediately available.

Mary Louise Bewley, spokeswoman for IPS, said the bus had dropped off students at Manual shortly before the accident. The driver did not have any serious injuries, Bewley said.
I'm sure there's an "owned" in here somewhere.

That guy is severly lucky to have survived.
And why isn't that bus even scratched?

there's nothing 'hummer' about the H2 or H3 other than the name, all that the H1 stood for was lost in this toned down, kids-version of the vehicle.

In other news, the Pentagon is considering deployment of 20,000 school buses in the Baghdad region

Well they did say they had to cut the fella out ... I guess the visible damage to this side of the hummer was caused by the firemen, not by the crash (theres no evidence to this side of the school bus to indicate that kind of damage). I guess they just cut all that stuff away to get to the driver (plus it is evident that this has been cut away - i.e it's not crumpled anywhere - eg. where is the passenger side door?)

Those vehicles are ugly as sin.

It's like driving in a god damn tetris piece.

The actual hummer design is the cool one... Not these boxes.

Still, his legs should have become non-existant looking at the picture.

I doubt it. It was probably either recoil or the firefighters had to pull the vehicle out from under the bus to get the person out. Tin foil Hummer vs. 2" steel bus bumper = lose. :O

Is it wrong that I was laughing when I saw the picture?
