heya all, ok have a look at my specs to see wat i got. Now i run the stress test with everything maxed aa maxed af maxed etc on the reso of 1024x728, no i get and average of 80-89fps, is this correct for my system or should i be getting in the 100 mark?

thx

WOW i have the same setup exactly, But with a X800 pro and i hit 110 in the stress test, with aa maxed and af maxed and at 1024X 768. make sure you turn off v- sync in the options and in your iti control panel as well . Ohh and you have a nice setup there. :)

5900 [128mb]
1gb ram
p4 3000+

1024x760, i have everything max, aa and af and i get 67 or so in the stress test, but when i play online i get like 20fps. so i dont think that hte stress test it too accurate

take aa down to nothing and af to trilienar and i get 50fps ingame....and all the textures are more detailed....strange.....

Hi alan freeman, do u think u could tell me wat drivers u have, ur PC specs, and wat settings u have in the advanced control panel for ati, plz this would help alot

I'm using the x800 pro 1GB Ram 1024x768 4xAA and I got 99-109 fps

The stress test is crap =/. At the end where the door is, there is nothing to stress your fps. So it shoots up to your max fps and throws the average off. Even though i average 50 fps when it's stressing my video card, I still get like 90 average fps.

i got x800 pro too
2.1ghz amd
1gb ddr

n i get 96fps ... with no AA/AF mine sux too

ok i've done all i can, i just REFORMATED my whole PC back to square one, im installing HL2 as im typing hoping to god that this fixes my problem, because ATI cards are ment to perform the best........funny how somthings will work with others, and other times they just dont...

evolution something is wrong man.

3500+ winchester
1gb pc3500
x800xt NON P.E

1280x960 4xaa 16xaf i get 134-138fps in the stress test.

didnt test in 1024 because i dont game at that res...it would probably be in the 140's fps at 1024.

im running on a 1.25gb of RAM ok, but only 1gb of that is dual channel 3200 i think, the other 256mb is 2700, would this be the cause, should i take out the 256mb? thx

seriosuly there is something wrong
my setup below i got a 148... (only af 4x on though)

jeeze i cant believe this, i meen really, i've waited so long to get this card, HUGE upgrade from 9600se, and now its not even benifitting to what it should be, so u do think that my memory could be the problem?

I recommned taking out the 256meg.
If I remmeber corretly the lowest ram will limit all other ram.
Thus your ram is really running at 1.25gig, 2700.
Take out the 256 and it would run at
1gig, 3200.

Check ur monitors refresh rate and dpi settings for the car. I messed with mine a little and it made some what of a difference.

thx guys, i took out the 256mb and gained about 10+fps, still not quite the mark i was hoping for, but yeh, is there anyway to tweak RAM or "clean" it up? thx

Your score seems fine for your cpu (maybe a little low)

Remember that HL2 is CPU heavy (which is why Bizzy, with his A64 3500, is getting such a nice score)

It doesn't matter what gfx card you have - your cpu will limit your framerate in this game (your 3.2 is holding back your xtpe a great deal)

(don't worry about the stress test too much - as long as you're happy with the performance in game then it's all good. Start saving for a new A64 :) - then your X800 will fly \o/)

STALKER!

stalker, wat? hey yeh anyways...ill start to save for a new processor thing is i only 14 and dont even have a job, it took so long for me to get the money off my parents for that new card, but yeh, i overclocked my card abit and gained me fps, i spose it's still very much playable so i should be fine, but im annoyed at the fact my cpu is letting me down, i thought it was pretty good.....bloody amd 64bit ;)
