Stuck again -- This time in Nova Prospect

Hello guys -- thanks a lot for helping me pass the level of Ravenholm.

But it did not take me long to get stuck again!

I finished Highway 17 and went into Nova Propect. I am stuck in the part where you are in a room where you are attacked by dozens of combine soldiers. I believe the way to win this battle is using the turrets. But I have tried for hours and can't pass this part. Is there a trick to this? Again I don't want cheats -- I want to pass this honestly lol

Just set up the turrets with the gravity gun and keep your shotgun out...

Is this your first or second time with the turrets? The first one is easy, the second one... not so easy.

2nd one is still pretty easy...keep the turrets close enough to you that you can switch to the grav gun easily. Once again, keep your shotgun out incase they get through...

Pile boxes with the gravity gun to climb up to the upper floor. Throw the turrets up as well. Position one turret at each side, and carry one with you using the gravity gun.

You can also position sentries back up by picking them up with the gravity gun.

easiest way is if you carry the two first sentry guns with you to this part for a total of five sentry guns.

what I usually do is set up four sentry guns in the center room with the ammo box...one in each corner pointing inward...

the last turret I pick up with my sentry gun and keep holding it...and enter the last holding cell on the left side with the sentry gun just peeking out.

the soldiers will keep trying getting to the turrets in the center room but will be mowed down by the crossfire...the turret your holding will take down any stragglers...just be ready to drop your turret to pick up and throw away any nades that come your way....this method have never failed me...and only once did the combine manage to to knock over all four turrets in the center room(lucky nade I guess).

You are stuck in a room? With heaps of combine attacking? Then the place you must be talking about is.....almost any given part in the entire game of HL2. Ohhhh - but you did say Nova Prospect. And that there are turrets around. That limits it to.........almost anywhere in Nova Prospect. Well done.

Boy I wish you noobs could help us to help you, by actually posting better descriptions of where you are stuck, include a screen-shot, or google for a walkthrough.

This is how I do it:

When you arrive at this place there is to separate corridors. Place the three turrets beside each other at the entrance at the end of the right corridor. That way you will only get surprised by a few soldiers from behind and you have control over the rest of the arena. You really need to be quick to reload and changing your weapons, and of course, when the soldiers throw grenades, throw them away with the Gravity Gun.

The combine soldiers will throw grenades at your turrets, and if your turrets are down, your dead. Also use the Gravity Gun to grab the Manhacks and throw them in the walls. And on top of that, just blast all soldiers coming in for you! IMO, this is the hardest place (if you don't use the top floor that is) in the game and you actually need to be rather skilled to get past it. Good Luck!

Stuck in Route Canal Part 1

In this little room with the vortigaunt and one of the good guys. He charges up my suit, then I guess I'm supposed to go after the guy opens a door for me. But he doesn't do anything, just stands around and occasionally asks me what I'm waiting for. Am I missing something? Is the game hung up? What gives?

You should have probably started a new thread, but hey. He's supposed to open the door. Open up the console, type in 'sv_cheats 1' and then type in 'noclip' and walk through the door. Once you're through, type in 'noclip' again, to turn it off.
