Stuck almost at the end of the water hazard :((

Hi guys , i need help , i play HL2 for almost 2 days and i already have problems .
After a run through the Water hazard i end up in a kinda round place , water , 2 shiprecks , 2 destroyed rocket machines on a higher lvl , and the only way out i see is on a higher sewer but i just keep folling when i say i just jumped over there (.
If anyone can tell me what should i do, i would be very happy.

AH! I remember where you are.

Look for a (I think red) container. It's got a hole in it on the right side. If you peek inside, you'll see a red barrel. Shoot it until it catches fire. It'll explode, and you will be able to go through the container. Keep on going through and you'll have passed that part.
