Stuck at Highway 17

How to get rid of the field?

I had exactly the same problem, removing the plug only turned off the force field in that room, it was protecting something else though!

well i hate to break it to ya dude but U've got to go all the way back . In the room where U undid the plug; go to the far wall and turn off the access (look for a button)
- ps stock up on rockets

BAH! I just figured that out and was feeling all proud and happy that I would be able to contribute something by sharing the existence of the button. Ah well, back to the drawing board
