Stuck in chapter 12

This is Chapter 12 - "Follow Freeman".

I'm stuck at a place where I can't go outside savely, because some brutal laser beam shoots down from above every other 10 seconds. The guy who is with me tells me, we need to shut it down from inside the house, but I can't find where...

You have to go into the house on your right to get past the first line of blue shields, and then continue from there down to the left house to get past the second line of shields.
