Stuck in dark energy -- can't jump

Hi everyone,

I finally made it to the Dark Energy level and apparently I can't jump. Also it seems like the gravity is screwed up because I got to the portal area and am trying to ride one of the platforms and I keep sliding off. I broke down and checked a walk-through and nothing was mentioned about either issue.

Is this normal?

hi there,

i'm in chapter 'our benefactors' and i've got the same problem as malfoy. i just cannot jump!! :angry:
no matter to which key/mouse button i bind 'jump', it doesn't work.
so now i'm stuck, cause i have to jump to go on.
i'm a bit lost here! everything worked fine for me til yesterday and now i cannot jump..don't know why, didn't change anything that could have made this happen (as far as i remember).
maybe it's the new steam update, but that would be weird.

well, i hope anyone can help me. it's frustrating being so close to the end...

sry but a screenie won't help you here 'cause the only thing you'll see is that i'm standing on ground, not jumping.
it's not a chapter-related problem. i just cannot jump, no matter in which chapter i am, even starting a new game won't help..

hmmm..Ive heard of this happening....Check sv_gravity and set it to 600
so
console type sv_gravity 600
that might help possibly

Been awhile since I played HL2 now but could you not try a rocket/grenade jump (if that's even possible) just so you can get past that section?

I was playing through the game again recently and in Dark Energy I noticed that the conveyor belt/coffin ride through the citadel had got screwed. The dangling thing you ride from had started jerking back and forth like crazy, ruining the ride. But I persevered and once the next section loaded, it reverted to normal.

Maybe Dark Energy is a bit buggy. Perhaps screwing around enough to get the next section to load will make things go back to normal.

Slip Sliding But not along

THe Same Here. . . there is no way to stay on the &$$%$&^ platform. . . I even tried a different computer . . . no one will tell me how they stay on!!!

in order to change sv_gravity, you will also need to enable cheats will you not? sv_cheats 1 if so
