stuck in follow freeman

i just re-installed half life 2 after a rather long hiatus. i'm back to where i was stuck before--somewhere in follow freeman. i'm even more stuck now, however, because i don't remember what i was doing.

i have a squad of three following me, and i'm outside a room which i hope someone will remember. you go in the room, and it looks somewhat like an industrial kitchen, with chrome cabinets around you and there are red trip lights all surrounding you. there are a few pictures on the wall. behind the cabinets you can see a health station and there's a closed door. when you set off a drip line you get shot up and usually die in a couple seconds. the door also slams behind you. there is a bomb thingie in the middle of the room which you can throw away before entering.

i've died here about 30 times and i'm not sure how to get past those trip lines. also, i don't even know what i'm doing in the building now, so it's very frustrating.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

You hug the walls and the tiny sides. It's a bit hard to explain, I'll try to find that picture walkthrough.

But here is an IGN walkthrough:

You
should see a room laden with red lines. Jump on the above plank and walk
past the red lines. Next, jump on the plank and jump over the red lines.
Now, walk around the path and crawl under the red planks. Bear in mind,
hoppers will be everywhere. After crawling under, climb the plank with
the red lines, but don't run into them. Then, jump to the pipes and walk
over them and drop down. Turn the red beams off. Provided your rag
tag group survived the combine guards attacking outside, (Barney will if
you're quick), they will now enter the room. Enter the Generator room and
disable it.
