Stuck in sand trap

Completed pheropod (bugbait) training,Vortigaunt doesn't open log barrier wall.Bought the book,can't figure out how to get past this.Been here 2 weeks.Appreciate any help!

u obviousl havent completed the lil training thing properly.. make sure u trow a pod into thte lil sand pit n also trow one at the hangin combine duden call em over to u too... i thinks thast what i did n i had no probs... good luck

I've done all of that over and over again,theAntlions follow me to the wall,but the Vortigaunt just keeps saying:"the freeman must squeeze this bugbait sharpley if wish's his Antlions to follow where he leads".I right click the mouse to squeeze the bugbait,and left click to throw.Any other clues?
