Stuck, Most Likely a Bug

Hello!
I've installed a copy of HL2: Episode Two and when i get to the place where i needed to kill those two antlion guardians (it's how they are called right?) on the "The Vortal Coil", i walk back to alyx and then she and the three handed monster speak to me and nothing happens, i can't open the door to the lift without the three handed monster, what should i do? I've tried to change sv_gravity to jump over the fence to the lift but the variable doesn't exist (and would i have to recreate their models if ill just over the fence?)

Have actually killed the two guardians? If you have then the vort (the three handed monster as you call him) should congratulate you and go over to the elevator. If it doesn't work you could try verifying the game cache files through Steam, assuming that you have Steam, of course.

Try reloading the level if nothing else works, it isn't that long or hard to get to that point.

They're called Vortigaunts! :| and you have killed the Guardians first right?

Also use the "noclip" command if you want to get past something. That will let you pass though anything, much better than messing with the gravity and jumping.
