Just shoot the balls of energy at the big spinning thing until it blows up.

dont even need to kill the gunships, just shoot each metal caseing around the center then shoot one in the core and boom, u win hl2

You don't need to takedown the gunships but it is much more fun. Just grab the energy balls from either generator and launch them at the reactor panels - then at the teleport itself.
