Stuck on last chapter (14)

WARNING SPOILERS IF YOU HAVENT FINISHED THE GAME !!!!!


Im on the top platform, i just got rid of the 2 helicopters and Doctor Breen is escaping in his teliporter thinggy, and i keep on getting a failure message as he escapes, how can i stop Breen from escaping ?

While he's about to transport theres these little devices floating around the top of the platform. Shoot them off with the manipulator.

Do i have to aim them at something or just shoot them off ?
