I really wanna start modelin some weapons and stuff, got alot of cool ideas. So far i face one problem which some of you might even laugh at me for not knowing. How do u open Studiomdl (which is a modeling program right?). Ive been on a site with instructions.. http://www.valveerc.com/srcsdk/models/compiling_models.html
but i don't really understand it. Namingly step 2 and 3. Ive been looking around in different places but i cant really find anything. I'm sure the answer is right under my nose but i cant see it but anyway can someone just simply tell me how to open it. I find all these games have some kinda trick to openin them like doom3 editor with the shortcut. Anyway can someone lend this newb some help, thanks in advance.

studiomdl is not a modeling program. Modeling programs are like 3D Studio Max or Softimage|XSI (link takes you to the free version)

studiomdl is a commandline program that will compile the models that you make in XSI or whatnot into hl2 models.
