The sign in front of a small church in a small town is causing a big controversy in Jonesville, S.C.

Pastor Roger Byrd said that he just wanted to get people thinking. So last Thursday, he put a new message on the sign at the Jonesville Church of God.

It reads: "Obama, Osama, hmm, are they brothers?"

was his sign motivated by race? no ..was it politically motivated? no ....

"It's simply to cause people to realize and to see what possibly could happen if we were to get someone in there that does not believe in Jesus Christ," he said

personally I'd rather someone in a position of power who wasnt influenced by stupid superstitous fairy tales because if nothing else it proves the candidate is both irrational and more than a little thick between the ears

he knows he's not a muslim....i dont understand the point. Is he actually trying to infer that since the names are similar that he's a muslim?

It's funny you know... all these idiots who look at his name and say, "Oh man, he's affiliated with Muslims, I won't ever vote for him" which is what my dad's new wife does.

They don't seem to notice or don't seem to care that he is and has been a Christian, just like them. So it's like... what the ****. Good job for being an idiot and judging somebody solely for where they were born in the world and what their name is.

Surprised the guy didn't use the middle name too.

no he's saying he doesnt belive in Jebus therefore making him a bad/dangerous candidate

hmmm

Hillary...Hitlary...Hitler...

I think we've got something here boys

McCain... McBane!
I think we know which candidate should win.

Mccain.

Cain.

Yet that doesn't give the Christians who do this stupid shit pause!

Less than 45 minutes away from my house.

I'm moving asap.

Mccain.

Cain.

Shit, I was wrong. But so are you, you missed the vital step...

McCain
Cain
KANE!

If he gets elected he'll rip off that wig and yell "One vision! One purpose! Peace through power!". Best president ever.

Except Cain is the proper spelling of the Cain from the bible that inspired every other Cain type character in literature.

they didnt have engrish in the bible ..it was probably written in hieroglyphics

Like CptStern said, it's a completely different alphabet! ;)

Kane is the superior form of the name. He's not a God... but he's a close second!

meh it's not like they got 99% of the stuff that's in that book right ..so who says they werent wrong when they wrote "Cain" ..maybe it was a mistranslation from the name Bob or Sally

The good pastor is only saying what we all secretly suspect amirite.

Relatedly, here in Ireland where I am atm - biggest pit of Catholic retardation ever - I was somehow made to feel like a retard recently, in a conversation with 2 women who were trying to make out that Obama was a muslim. There was no way for me to bridge the logic gap between the real world and them, so I was just stood there lips flapping like a goldfish, as if I was the idiot because my only weapons were flimsy old truth and logic.

They were all like "Well I'VE never heard of a Christian called Hussein...!"
OH OF COURSE!!! YOU'RE RIGHT!! FFS!! WHAT FOOLS WE'VE ALL BEEN, CRAZY OLD CATHOLIC FANATIC!

Lets go find the sign, and put up a cardboard poster that says, "Obama is not Muslim". That way we'll have one less retarded pastor and a few hundred slightly less retarded Christians.

concur.

something is really going wrong in that country over there... :(

The fact that it matters whether he is Muslim or not is repulsive

Well there are many reasons to be critical of a Islamic candidate if there was one, as there are many reasons to be critical of a Christian candidate.

Religion plays a large factor in so much as people need to wonder how much they will be pressured by their religious organizations to enact policy changes etc, and one thing that is disconcerting from a lot of Muslim organizations is the cry for Sharia Law, which is not something we want in this country. Especially considering it affects nearly every single way of life in negative ways for many people.

I can't say I would never want a Muslim president, but that unknown would certainly be scary to me... compared to the fact that most every president thus far has been Christian/Catholic which has been the norm for a long time.

Being non-christian/catholic would be a plus for me when considering candidates.

Wut? Hieroglyphics are Egyptian, the bible is (AFAIK) written in hebrew/arameic script.

really???? that's a revelation! :dozey: ...come on man give me more credit than that

a muslim candidate would worry some of you? there's no way a president would ever be openly muslim ..can you imagine a press conference where the president stops looks towards mecca bows his hard and says a little prayer? ffs americans would eat him alive: from the christian right to atheists to david letterman

"We pray on this the anniversary of 9/11 for the victems of this most heinious joyful crime day of victory praise be allah" <pulls out israeli made uzi and kills every mother****er in the room>

really I'm starting to think some americans believe the above scenario to come true should Obama take the oval office
